Nairobi, Kenya; September 30, 2025 – The Kenya Hockey Union (KHU) is pleased to officially announce the Men’s and Women’s national teams that will carry the nation’s flag at the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Ismailia, Egypt, from October 11th to 18th, 2025.
The final squads were unveiled today at a media briefing held at the City Park Hockey Stadium, following a rigorous and competitive selection process. The selected players represent the pinnacle of hockey talent in the country and have been chosen for their skill, dedication, and commitment to the national cause.
In a statement, Lt Col (Rtd) Nashon O. Randiek, HSC pcs (K), President of the Kenya Hockey Union, said:
“This is a moment of great pride for Kenyan hockey. We have assembled two squads that we believe possess the talent, determination, and spirit to compete at the highest level in Africa. The selection has been thorough, and we have every confidence in these players and the technical teams guiding them. Our goal is not just to participate, but to challenge for honours and elevate Kenya’s status on the continental stage. We call upon the entire nation and our corporate partners to rally behind these teams.”
Mr. Wycliffe Ongori, Hon. General Secretary of the KHU, added:

The Union is fully committed to providing the necessary support to ensure our teams are well-prepared and successful in Egypt. The Kenya Ladies Team boasts a blend of youthful energy and experienced campaigners, with veterans like Caroline Guchu (36) providing leadership, and exciting talents like Rebecca Nasambu (21) guarding the goal.
The National Men’s Team features a dynamic mix, including emerging stars like 17-year-old Brian Azeze and seasoned players like Kennedy Munialo (33), showcasing the depth of talent within the Kenyan hockey system.
